Julie’s workshop will tackle the challenging issue of how to value your time and establish a fee for your curatorial projects and consulting gigs.

Please join us on Saturday, September 14th at 2pm in our Sidewalk Cellar Space at Assembly Room for a workshop on writing exhibition announcements and press releases. We’ll consider what makes a press release successful—including how to clearly and succinctly communicate an exhibition’s content, themes, and significance—and analyze examples to better understand what works and what doesn’t.

The workshop will be presented by Tess Thackara, a freelance arts journalist who has written for publications including Artsy, The Art Newspaper, The New York Times, T Magazine, and the Financial Times. As Senior Editor for Artsy, she commissioned and edited hundreds of artist biographies and articles about art world news and exhibitions.
