Dear Friends,
From studio visits to gallery exhibitions and public programs, we absolutely enjoy the journey of curating and supporting artists’ careers. We are inspired by the power of community and creativity, and the importance of being there for each other during this unprecedented time.
Art offers us a connection, gives us food for thought, and can bring much joy and peace -even in dire circumstances. Our commitment to our community of independent curators and artists is at the heart of our mission, and it is in sharing their imaginative work that we are fortunate to connect with all of you. In this spirit, we continue to do our work at home and online. Follow us on Instagram to stay abreast of our activities and programs.
In normal times women artists are often overlooked and undervalued due to gender biases in the mainstream art world. They often experience more difficulty in financing their studies, traveling, exhibiting their work, and gaining recognition while also having to support themselves and/or their families. Yet many women rise to the challenge and change the face of art through their extraordinary work. So when you buy art by a woman artist whose work you admire, you support their quest for artistic excellence, you sustain their professional practice, and you chip away at inequality in the art world.
With this in mind, we are delighted to spotlight the work of four incredible women artists who are making their mark on the world: Julia Colavita, Beatrice Modisett,Rusudan Khizanishvili, Nora Riggs.
Please take a moment to consider sustaining our mission and community through the fantastic art we have available. Thank you.
Stay safe, stay home, and stop the spread!
Sincerely,
Assembly Room
